NJM2857 - 4 - ver.2010-02-08 test circuit NJM2857 v in v in v out control gnd 1.0f i in i cont v cont i out v out v v a a (*3) 4.7f (ceramic) (*3) 1.7v NJM2857 - 5 - ver.2010-02-08 typical applications 1 in the case where on/off control is not required: NJM2857 v in v out control gnd 1.0f v out v in (*4) 4.7f (*4) 1.7vNJM2857 v in v out control gnd 1.0f v out v in r (*4) 4.7f (*4) 1.7v NJM2857 - 6 - ver.2010-02-08 *input capacitance c in input capacitance c in is required to prevent oscillation and reduce po wer supply ripple for applications with high power supply impedance or a long power supply line. you should use the c in value of 0.1f larger to avoid the problem. c in should connect between gnd and v in as shortest path as possible. *output capacitance co output capacitor (co) will be required for a phase co mpensation of the internal error amplifier. the capacitance and the equivalent se ries resistance (esr) influence to stable operation of the regulator. this product is designed to work with a low esr capacitor (co). however use of recommended capacitance or larger value is effective for stable operation. use of a smaller co may cause excess output noise or oscillation of the regulator due to lack of the phase compensation. therefore use co with the recommended capacitance or la rger value and connect between vo terminal and gnd terminal with shortest path. the recommended capacita nce depends on the output voltage rank. low voltage regulator requires larger value co. thus, check the recommended capacitance for each output voltage rank. use of a larger co reduces output noise and ripple output, and also improves output transient response against rapid load change. *reverse current protection a reverse current protection circuit is built-in to this product and prevents a current inflow from an output terminal to the input terminal when the input terminal voltage became lower than the output terminal voltage. when a regulator is controlled by off (v cont <0.6v), the reverse current protection circuit functions.
